About The Position

This position is for an Interventionist for the 2026-2027 School Year at Bridgeport Public Schools, specifically at Classical Studies Academy for grades PK-6. The role involves establishing and adjusting instructional goals, designing lessons that foster problem-solving and creativity, and maintaining standards for student behavior. The Interventionist will also commit to ongoing professional development, plan learning activities to address individual differences, and develop/administer assessments. Monitoring student progress, involving parents and community members in instruction and assessment, and performing other assigned duties are also key aspects of this role. The salary range is $51,079 - $107,539, depending on education level (BA - 6th Year) and experience, following the contract between the Bridgeport Education Association (BEA) and the Bridgeport Board of Education.

Requirements

Required Connecticut Certification: Elementary (305) (001) (002) (005)
Experience in the use of educational technology.
Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.

Nice To Haves

Three years' successful teaching experience in an urban setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Establishes and (as necessary) adjusts instructional goals and objectives, to reflect district/school goals, curriculum policies, and the knowledge, skills, progress, and needs of one's students.
Designs lessons that provide an opportunity for problem-solving, creativity, and communication skills in relation to authentic, real-world problems.
Establishes and maintains standards for behavior that foster student self-discipline and positive relationships among students.
Commits to on-going professional development in content area and pedagogy.
Plans learning activities to address individual differences among students.
Develops, administers, and evaluates quality formative and summative assessments that reflect a balance of content knowledge and problem-solving skills.
Monitors and evaluates students' progress in relation to district/school curriculum policies and other planned goals and objectives.
Encourages, secures and maintains the involvement of parents and other community members in support of instruction.
Involves parents in the assessment of their children's progress and needs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
