About The Position

This position is for an Interventionist at Abingdon. The role requires a willingness to work as part of a team and involves current knowledge of language arts research, practice, materials, and assessment interpretation. The interventionist will also be responsible for leading team meetings and language arts committees as needed. This is a temporary position not eligible for employee benefits and employment may end at any time based on operational and staffing needs.

Requirements

• Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.
• Three years of classroom experience, preferably elementary.

Nice To Haves

• Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Willingness to work as part of a team.
• Current knowledge regarding language arts research and practice.
• Current knowledge of language arts materials including core programs, supplementary programs, and children's literature.
• Current knowledge of both group and individual assessment and how to interpret the results.
• Ability to lead team meetings and language arts committees as needed.
