About The Position

IDEA College Prep Teachers ensure that students master the academic and social skills needed to succeed in college while embodying IDEA’s values. They set ambitious achievement goals, track student data, use that information to create effective daily lesson plans, and seek feedback to continually improve their teaching. Instruction includes rigorous high-school material and opportunities for college credit through dual-enrollment, AP, or IB courses. This is a grant-funded position supported by Title I Part A funds. Continued funding may be extended, but ongoing employment is not guaranteed. The employee works solely on activities allowable under the grant and must complete a time and effort report. The role requires at least 40 hours at school per week. The selected candidate must submit official electronic service records from previous educational employers so the organization can verify creditable service and determine compensation, as applicable. The starting salary for a teacher with zero years of experience is $59,500. The role may qualify for stipends based on certifications, credentials, and campus leadership, as well as additional performance-based compensation. Additional hourly compensation is provided for assigned after-school tutoring or Saturday school. IDEA offers a comprehensive benefits plan, including paid family leave for eligible staff, tuition reimbursement subject to eligibility and budget, employer-paid mental and behavioral health services, and other benefits described in the posting.
