About The Position

The Interventional Vascular Specialist I provides quality care to patients receiving diagnostic and interventional vascular procedures in the interventional vascular suite and hybrid operating room.

Requirements

• Graduate of accredited school of radiologic OR cardiovascular technology.
• Registered as an ARRT or RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) prior to employment is preferred or within 24 months of employment as a condition of continued employment.

Responsibilities

• Understands and works with x-ray system, including panning table and recognizing different angles.
• Manages access site including proper removal of sheath, assessment of hematoma and knowledge of hematoma management.
• Understands concepts of radiation safety.
• Able to communicate effectively with team, patients, families and medical staff.
• Assists in scrub role for basic Interventional vascular procedures such as fistulagrams, central line placement, abdominal-aortal arteriograms with run-off, stent placement, angioplasty.
• Able to circulate, monitor and perform post procedure filming of cases.
• Knowledgeable in vascular anatomy and recognizing different types of lesions.
• Basic knowledge of supply features and applications to procedure.
• Knowledge and adherence to sterile technique.
