About The Position

Capital Health is seeking an Interventional Tech for Electrophysiology in Trenton. This is a full-time position with day shifts. The role involves providing clinical services according to radiology practice standards, acting as a resource to other technologists, and ensuring optimal patient care and departmental efficiency. The position requires a strong focus on patient safety, adherence to protocols, and accurate image management. The technologist will perform procedures as determined by the physician, maintain radiation protection and safety, and assist physicians in various studies. Responsibilities also include equipment preparation and maintenance, accurate data entry, and patient identification. This role is crucial for efficient and consistent departmental operations.

Requirements

  • Graduation from accredited school of radiological technology.
  • ARRT registered.
  • No previous experience required.
  • AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider
  • Diagnostic Radiography License
  • Basic computer skills.

  • Capability to perform on-call, holiday, and weekend work when required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical services according to radiology practice standards and acts as a resource to other technologists to ensure optimal patient care and efficient departmental operations.
  • Demonstrates patient safety by use of guard rails, breaking mechanisms, shielding, and patient monitoring.
  • Adheres to department policies and protocols to ensure that all studies are optimized for interpretation.
  • Demonstrates competence in correctly sending images to PACS.
  • Demonstrates radiation protection and safety for patients and staff as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines.
  • Performs appropriate procedures as determined by physician.
  • Maintains radiation exposure reading within the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) limits.
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of radiological principles and theory, anatomy, positioning, and technique for obtaining optimal imaging studies.
  • Recognizes clinical and emergent problems that may interfere with exams and take appropriate action to resolve them and produce the most desirable outcome.
  • Assists physicians in the performance of various studies using standard department protocols and appropriate radiation protection, sterile procedures, and infection control procedures.
  • Prepares, operates, and maintains equipment consistent with established policies, standards, and practices for sterilization, safety, and proper operation condition.
  • Completes ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations.
  • Identifies correctly patients and files to ensure a high degree of accuracy.
  • Enters written and electronic data accurately in comments to provide all pertinent data to radiologists to assist in the interpretation of imaging studies.
