About The Position

This position involves developing skills to assist a Radiologist or Radiology Assistant with invasive and non-invasive procedures in the Interventional Radiology (IR) lab. The role requires the ability to share call duties and stay late as needed. The technologist will develop knowledge about the utilization of all equipment, including emergency equipment and supplies, and ensure correct patient identification, diagnosis, and exam. They will also develop knowledge of correct and acceptable radiographic, positioning, and scrub techniques, and the ability to explain procedures to patients and families effectively. The role includes utilizing proper immobilization devices, raising concerns related to patient care, safety, or satisfaction to leadership, maintaining equipment, and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma
  • No experience required
  • ARRT – R.T.(R) - American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT)
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers – AHA - American Heart Association
  • Radiologic Technologist License (RTL) - Arkansas Department of Health

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
  • Technologist - 1 year Licensed Radiology Technologist in a hospital setting

Responsibilities

  • Developing skills to assist Interventional Radiologist or Radiology Assistant during procedure
  • Developing knowledge about utilization of all equipment including emergency equipment, and supplies.
  • Ensures correct patient, diagnosis, and exam.
  • Developing knowledge of correct & acceptable radiographic, positioning, and scrub techniques.
  • Developing ability to explain procedures to patients and families in an effective manner.
  • Developing knowledge of all emergency equipment/supplies.
  • Utilizes proper immobilization devices to control patient movement.
  • Raises concerns related to patient care, patient safety or patient satisfaction to Lead or Supervisor.
  • Maintains equipment and requests service as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
