About The Position

This is a full-time, day shift Interventional Radiology Technologist role located at the new IU Health Fort Wayne Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Schedule Monday-Friday Approximately 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM. No call at hospital opening. Future call responsibilities anticipated after hospital launch. Sign-On Bonus available for eligible applicants! Opportunity to help build a brand-new hospital and Interventional Radiology program from the ground up. Work with a growing team in a state-of-the-art facility opening in May 2027. Be part of establishing workflows, culture, and operational excellence from day one.

Requirements

  • Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
  • Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
  • Requires knowledge of sterile technique and supplies used during interventional exams.
  • Requires active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Requires current Indiana State State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist.

Nice To Haves

  • Interventional Radiology experience.
  • Cath Lab experience.
  • May be required to obtain advanced credential in interventional radiography, if applicable.
  • Experience as a radiologic technologist, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists radiologist/interventionalist in interventional procedures including acting as scrub tech where appropriate.
  • Adheres to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Follows radiation safety protocols and is aware of patient dose alert levels and escalation procedure.
  • Understands and has knowledge of complex procedures.
  • Demonstrates ability to determine appropriate supplies for procedure and sets up sterile field.
  • Possesses advanced knowledge of cross sectional and vascular anatomy.
  • Communicates and work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team (critical care, ED, Trauma, IP, OP, Nursing, Oncology, Transplant, GI, Neurosurgery, etc).
  • Documents necessary information in EMR.
