About The Position

This is a full-time Interventional Radiology Technologist role in a Las Vegas, NV surgery center. The center is open Monday through Friday, with variable start and end times, operating between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm. New graduates are considered. The role supports the organization's mission, vision, and values, adhering to compliance programs and regulatory requirements. The technologist will assist physicians with interventional radiology procedures, operate and maintain radiological equipment, and manage inventory and supplies.

Requirements

  • Must have ARRT certification.
  • Must have NV license.
  • Successfully complete BLS certification.
  • Working knowledge of interventional equipment (including C-Arm and Ultrasound equipment).
  • Experience with interventional procedures, using/ordering/maintaining required materials/supplies for each procedure.
  • Knowledge and experience of sterile techniques.
  • Knowledge of universal precautions and personal protective devices.
  • Experience with monitoring and maintaining inventory.
  • Proficient in the use of computers and related software such as Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).

  • 4 – 6 years’ related experience desirable.
  • 1 year experience preferred for Candidates with ARRT.

Responsibilities

  • Performs activities for patient and procedure room preparation for radiology procedures in compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Reviews patient orders to determine necessary materials and supplies.
  • Sets up and stocks procedure rooms and trays with supplies and equipment, and cleans rooms post-procedure.
  • Explains procedures to patients, answers questions, and addresses concerns.
  • Assists with patient preparation for surgical procedures, including positioning, shaving, and prepping.
  • Performs patient transfers and transports patients to and from the procedure room.
  • Inputs patient data into the C-Arm.
  • Acts as a scrub assistant during interventional procedures and administers fluoroscopy.
  • Maintains sterile technique according to company policies and regulations.
  • Complies with HIPAA policies regarding patient confidentiality.
  • Draws up and labels intravenous medication.
  • Processes and archives x-ray images.
  • Provides quality patient care by supporting and driving the organization's quality standards.
  • Assists with implementing quality goals and action plans.
  • Ensures medical records are accurate, complete, and compliant.
  • Maintains the integrity of medical records and performs audits.
  • Maintains environmental integrity and aesthetics, ensuring areas are clean, sanitary, and safe.
  • Inspects equipment daily before and after procedures and makes recommendations for replacement or repair.
  • Assists with the disposal of hazardous waste, dirty linen, and rugs.
  • Prepares, organizes, and utilizes supplies and equipment efficiently to prevent waste.
  • Attends and participates in Governing Body meetings, assisting with agendas and data gathering.
  • Ensures effective communication with physicians.
  • Attends and participates in CQI meetings with physicians, reporting on assigned topics.
  • Works with physicians and staff to ensure necessary instruments and equipment are available.
  • Addresses physician concerns in areas of responsibility.
  • Assists in training and orienting new employees.
  • Ensures patient billing is accurate and timely by reviewing procedures, documenting charges, and verifying codes.
  • Assists with inventory, ordering, and restocking of supplies.
  • Acts as Radiation Safety Officer, monitors radiation badges, and conducts radiation safety in-services.
  • Participates in facility regulatory and accreditation surveys and action plans.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
