About The Position

This is a part-time, day shift Interventional Radiology Technologist role located at the new IU Health Fort Wayne Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The schedule is Monday-Friday, approximately 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM. There is no call at hospital opening, but future call responsibilities are anticipated after the hospital launch. A sign-on bonus is available for eligible applicants. This role offers the opportunity to help build a brand-new hospital and Interventional Radiology program from the ground up. You will work with a growing team in a state-of-the-art facility opening in May 2027 and be part of establishing workflows, culture, and operational excellence from day one.

Requirements

Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
Requires knowledge of sterile technique and supplies used during interventional exams.
Requires active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Requires current Indiana State State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist.

Nice To Haves

Interventional Radiology experience.
Cath Lab experience.
May be required to obtain advanced credential in interventional radiography, if applicable.
Experience as a radiologic technologist, preferred.

Responsibilities

Assists radiologist/interventionalist in interventional procedures including acting as scrub tech where appropriate.
Adheres to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Follows radiation safety protocols and is aware of patient dose alert levels and escalation procedure.
Understands and has knowledge of complex procedures.
Demonstrates ability to determine appropriate supplies for procedure and sets up sterile field.
Possesses advanced knowledge of cross sectional and vascular anatomy.
Communicates and works effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team (critical care, ED, Trauma, IP, OP, Nursing, Oncology, Transplant, GI, Neurosurgery, etc).
Documents necessary information in EMR.
