About The Position

Spokane Urology is opening a brand-new imaging center, the Advanced Radiation and Imaging Center of Spokane, in January 2027. This facility aims to provide exceptional patient care and advanced diagnostic procedures. The role offers a ground-floor opportunity to be part of the inaugural clinical team, helping to shape the operational culture. The position emphasizes a supportive, family-like atmosphere, strong team camaraderie, and flexible scheduling with no regular weekend shifts. The technologist will work with modern imaging equipment, including advanced fluoroscopy and image-guided interventional systems. Paid onboarding and specialized training will begin in Late Fall 2026, prior to the Grand Opening on January 11, 2027. The Interventional Radiology Technologist assists physicians in interventional procedures and provides diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients. Performs radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by, or at the request of, a licensed practitioner.

Requirements

Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology required (Bachelor’s Degree preferred).
Active ARRT (R) certification required.
Active Washington State Radiologic Technologist license required.
Current BLS certification required.
Minimum of 1–2 years of hands-on Interventional Radiology experience preferred.
Associate Degree in Radiography.
Graduate of Accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
A minimum of 1 year of Interventional Radiologic Technologist experience required.
Valid ARRT Certification in Radiography.
BLS certification required.
Knowledge of routine to complex Radiologic procedures and protocols.
Knowledge in healthcare systems operations such as EMR.
Knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare coding systems, and clinics functions.
Knowledge of governmental regulations and compliance requirements.
Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.
Demonstrates understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.
Ability to assist patients for transfer from stretcher, wheelchair or in an emergency situation.
Critical thinking skills and ability to make decisive judgment.
Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to provide compassionate care to patients and family.
Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness with ability to monitor own work to ensure quality.
Complies with all health and safety policies of the organization.

Nice To Haves

ARRT (VI) or (CI) credential preferred.
ACLS preferred.
Urology experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform complex interventional radiologic procedures and directly assist physicians with fluoroscopic and image-guided interventions.
Ensure optimal patient positioning, radiation safety, shielding protocols, equipment calibrations, and sterile field practices.
Operate modern imaging technology and post-processing systems to generate high-quality diagnostic records.
Provide compassionate patient care, support comfort and safety throughout procedural steps, and maintain strict HIPAA compliance.
Collaborate on patient medical issues with the physician to determine protocol and procedure.
Obtain and record patient identification, medical history, or test results.
Administer and record isotope dosage in accordance with established departmental protocol.
Monitor patient condition continually and report/respond to changes in status as appropriate.
Perform medical care as needed, such as administering oxygen, taking vital signs and giving emergency treatments.
Maintain patient confidentiality.
Maintain, clean and report any issues with equipment.
Administer appropriate high quality, patient-focused health care.
Operate imaging equipment and other ancillary equipment properly and safely.
Practice correct radiation protection, shielding and collimating, and proper exposure factors on each patient.
Complete exams in timely and efficient manner and evaluate each film for acceptable technical quality.
Accurately, efficiently, and completely document all clinical patient care data.
Participate in department quality improvement activities, staff educational programs, attend departmental meetings, and demonstrate and maintain clinical competency in the delivery of patient care services in accordance with Company guidelines.
Perform other position related duties as assigned.
Adhere to high standards of ethical conduct and comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including Solaris Health Code of Conduct and Affiliated Practice policies and procedures.
Maintain the confidentiality of patients' protected health information in compliance with HIPAA.
Immediately report any suspected concerns and/or violations to a supervisor and/or the Compliance Department.
Complete Annual Compliance Training in a timely manner.
