About The Position

This position has been designated as safety sensitive and cannot be filled by a candidate who is a current user of medical marijuana. Assists Radiologist or Radiology Assistant with invasive and non-invasive procedures in the Interventional Radiology (IR) lab. Able to share call duties and stay late as needed. Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma
  • Direct - 2 years of experience
  • ARRT – R.T.(R) - American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT)
  • Basic Life Support CPR for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) - American Heart Association
  • Radiologic Technologist License (RTL) - Arkansas Department of Health

Responsibilities

  • Developing skills to assist Interventional Radiologist or Radiology Assistant during procedure
  • Developing knowledge about utilization of all equipment including emergency equipment, and supplies.
  • Ensures correct patient, diagnosis, and exam. Developing knowledge of correct & acceptable radiographic, positioning, and scrub techniques.
  • Developing ability to explain procedures to patients and families in an effective manner.
  • Developing knowledge of all emergency equipment/supplies.
  • Utilizes proper immobilization devices to control patient movement.
  • Raises concerns related to patient care, patient safety or patient satisfaction to Lead or Supervisor.
  • Maintains equipment and requests service as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
