About The Position

The Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist II performs the duties of a Radiologic Technologist on a wide variety of technical procedures in the interventional radiology suite and general diagnostic imaging. Provides high-quality diagnostic special procedures and interventional studies while providing safe and high-quality care to the pediatric population. Consistently complies with CHOC practices, policies (e.g., attendance, patient safety), and procedures. The IR Technologist abides by the ethical standards set by CHOC. Adheres to safety standards and regulatory requirements participates in quality control and process improvement activities and maintains clinical competency and mandatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year of outpatient and/or acute care technologist experience with six (6) months in a pediatric setting.
  • Graduate from an approved education program in Radiography/Radiologic Technology.
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others.
  • Able to work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure.
  • Able to collaborate and accept direction.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone.
  • Able to think critically.
  • Able to manage multiple assignments effectively.

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
  • Radiologic Technologist -CA (CRT).
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - CA Fluoroscopy.
  • BLS Certificate.
  • Current ACLS and PALS certificate - required within nine (9) months of hire or transfer.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of acute care technologist experience in a pediatric inpatient hospital.
  • Graduate from an AMA-approved program in Vascular Interventional (VI) Technology.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Post Primary Certification (ARRT-VI) - required within twenty-four (24) months of hire or transfer.
