About The Position

The Interventional Radiology Technician will be responsible for producing high-quality radiologic images while ensuring the patient’s comfort and safety during examinations and procedures. This role requires a strong commitment to teamwork, patient rights, and operational efficiency. This position offers an engaging and fast-paced work environment, ideal for individuals looking to contribute positively to patient care in Interventional Radiology.

Requirements

  • Current New York State License (or ability to obtain prior to start).
  • Two years of experience in a radiology environment.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

  • VIR Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Select appropriate exposure factors and positioning to consistently produce diagnostic-quality images.
  • Collaborate with department members to effectively resolve any issues that arise.
  • Instruct and prepare patients for examinations and assist the Radiologist during procedures.
  • Operate radiology equipment competently and report any malfunctions to the manager or lead.
  • Complete all assigned procedures in a timely manner, utilizing time between procedures to assist colleagues and facilitate room turnover.
  • Maintain medication security by ensuring access is only provided to authorized personnel.
  • Exhibit professionalism and compassion in all interactions with patients and colleagues.
  • Utilize the Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS effectively.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities and hospital initiatives when needed.
  • Ensure confidentiality by using personal passwords and following patient care protocols.
  • Field technical inquiries from physicians and hospital staff while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
