About The Position

This is a full-time, day shift opportunity for an Interventional Vascular Tech at St. Peter's Health Partners. The organization is committed to professional growth and provides training for Radiologic Techs interested in becoming Interventional Vascular Techs. The Vascular/Interventional Technologist performs all vascular/interventional procedures in accordance with departmental standards, under the direction of the Chief of Medical Imaging, and abiding by the Mercycare mission and values.

Requirements

AAS in Radiologic Technology (or equivalent hospital-based certificate program)
Current NYS license in Radiologic Technology

Nice To Haves

Advanced certification in Cardiovascular/Interventional Technology preferred

Responsibilities

Performs diagnostic imaging.
Operates and adjusts imaging equipment.
Explains procedures to patients, positions patients and equipment.
Obtains and records a complete clinical history pertinent to the examination requested.
Evaluates requests for appropriateness, refers concerns to coordinator and/or Radiologist.
Compresses and evaluates arterial and venous puncture sites.
Selects appropriate technical factors for requested imaging exam.
Assists in the instruction of student technologists and new personnel.
Selects accurate post-processing techniques to optimize vascular/interventional images.
Maintains full knowledge of inventories available and their applications (catheters, guidewires and stents).
Maintains aseptic technique during procedures and scrubs with physician.
Accesses and interprets lab values and patient monitoring equipment.
