About The Position

UPMC Presbyterian is seeking a full-time Interventional Radiology Technologist to join their highly skilled IR team. This role involves working a daylight Monday-Friday schedule with rotating evenings, weekends, holidays, and holiday call coverage, requiring a 30-minute response time during call shifts. UPMC Presbyterian is a Level I Trauma Center and home to the region's only Trauma in Pregnancy Center, offering a fast-paced environment with cutting-edge technology where imaging professionals make a life-saving difference.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • ARRT certified as a Radiologic Technologist is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required.
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Administer contrast under protocol and support physicians during interventional procedures.
  • Demonstrate expert positioning and radiographic techniques for a wide range of IR exams.
  • Review patient history and physician orders to ensure accurate, high-quality imaging.
  • Document patient information in the electronic medical record with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ensure all studies are properly coded, tracked, archived, and charged within RIS and ISITE systems.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with IR colleagues and other departments to expedite patient care.
  • Provide support for general radiographic procedures when needed.
