About The Position
This is an ongoing coverage need for an Interventional Radiology Physician Assistant (PA) at a Level I trauma center. The role involves both inpatient and outpatient coverage, with an average of 25 patients per shift. The practice setting includes a team of 2 APPs, 9 RNs, 4 MAs, and 2 Office Staff. The PA will be responsible for performing a variety of procedures and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care.
Requirements
- Active Virginia licensure
- Board certification
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 1-year Interventional Radiology experience or equivalent
- Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
- Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Virginia
- National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- At least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
- Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices
- Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
