About The Position

The Interventional Radiology/Nephrology Nurse - Per Diem position at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital is responsible for the care of patients undergoing interventional procedures requiring sedation. This includes assessing, monitoring, and providing care before, during, and after the procedure. The role also involves pre-procedure phone screening for Interventional Radiology (IR) patients. As a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts, the individual is accountable for planning and providing patient care in accordance with established Nursing Standards of Care. The nurse will demonstrate initiative, knowledge, and clinical skills in managing patients with complex needs, taking full responsibility for the assessment, plan, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. The position emphasizes the Patient and Family Centered Care Model and best practices.

Requirements

  • BSN required
  • Massachusetts Registered Nurse Licensure required
  • BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers required
  • ACLS required
  • Excellent IV skills
  • 2 years of critical care experience required
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Show evidence of the basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients
  • Ability to demonstrate observational skills and the ability to set priorities
  • Ability to adhere to all I.C.A.R.E. standards

Nice To Haves

  • Background in Interventional Nursing strongly preferred (Interventional Radiology, Interventional Cardiology, Endoscopy)
  • Procedural sedation experience preferred
  • Membership in professional organizations is recommended
  • Certification in a specialty area is encouraged

Responsibilities

  • Care for patients having interventional procedures requiring sedation.
