About The Position

This is a 100% Interventional Radiology position at Ascension's flagship hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. The role involves joining a specialized team delivering cutting-edge, minimally invasive care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The practice is high-volume and full-service, supported by a robust inpatient consultation service and a thriving outpatient clinic model. The physician will be part of an established team and will have zero diagnostic radiology reading responsibilities. The role offers significant clinical and administrative support, including APPs and dedicated nurses, and involves a high-end, complex case mix across multiple specialized service lines such as Thrombosis & CLI, Advanced Interventional Oncology, Complex Portal Venous & Biliary, and World-Renowned Partnerships for Vascular Malformation Clinic and HHT. The position also includes work in a brand-new outpatient practice in an Office-Based Lab (OBL). The facility is an 825-bed tertiary care hospital, Level I Adult and Peds Trauma Center, and a major Transplant Hub, recognized nationally for various specialties. The network is backed by Ascension Medical Group (AMG), a large network prioritizing clinician engagement.

Requirements

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Interventional Radiology
Fellowship training in Interventional Radiology
Eligible for Indiana state medical licensure and DEA registration
Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.

Responsibilities

Deliver compassionate medical care and treatment to patients within the assigned clinical area.
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients utilizing advanced clinical judgment and evidence-based practices.
Perform procedures in a high-volume, full-service clinical IR practice.
Provide cutting-edge, minimally invasive procedures in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Manage daily rounding, clinic flow, and minor vascular/non-vascular interventions (supported by APPs).
Handle procedural scheduling, patient calls, and follow-ups (supported by dedicated nurses).
Engage in a high-end, complex case mix across multiple specialized service lines.
Lead the comprehensive hospital thrombosis service line (PE, DVT, PV).
Run a robust Critical Limb Ischemia (CLI) service.
Utilize advanced interventional oncology technologies.
Serve as the core IR provider for the Vascular Malformation Clinic and the Center of Excellence for HHT.
Perform interventions for complex portal venous & biliary cases.
Act as "doctor’s consultants" for various hospital service lines.
Collaborate with specialists from Surgery, Urology, Oncology, GI, Pulmonary, Cardiology, and Cardiothoracic.
Provide care in a newly opened Office-Based Lab (OBL).
