About The Position

Performs radiographic and/or medical imaging and related procedures to assist in diagnosis and treatment of patients. Responsibilities include providing patient care services, evaluating outcomes, and performing radiographic and/or medical imaging procedures to demonstrate structures for interpretations and/or therapeutic intervention. The role involves providing and documenting correct hemodynamic data, ensuring safety measures for patients undergoing procedures, and performing patient care activities pre, intra, and post procedurally. This position also requires maintaining supplies and equipment inventory, stocking and preparing procedure rooms, ordering supplies, and performing quality control and assurance for division equipment. The technologist will participate in quality assurance monitoring, assume responsibility for assigned equipment, and act as a team member to achieve business goals, quality outcomes, and customer satisfaction. Regular attendance, participation in committees and performance improvement activities, and successful completion of probation and skills/competency requirements are expected. The role requires practicing within legal, ethical, and professional boundaries, maintaining expertise, serving as a role model, and showing commitment to personal professional growth. Safeguarding confidential information and complying with all laws and regulations governing healthcare organizations are essential.

Requirements

  • Graduate of Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited radiographic program
  • Certification: Certified by the American Registry of Radiological Technology in Radiography, or registry eligible (must be certified by the American Registry of Radiological Technology within 90 days of employment)
  • License: Valid Mississippi Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) Licensure
  • None (Experience Requirements)
  • Basic EKG knowledge
  • Proficient in hemodynamic monitoring and valve calculation
  • Proficient using operating equipment and instruments utilized in patient care procedures
  • Ability to speak and hear for effective communication
  • Visual acuity and manual dexterity to manipulate equipment and use keyboard and processes information
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and position patients and equipment

  • One (1) year in a cath lab setting

Responsibilities

  • Provides patient care services and evaluates outcomes

  • Communicates variances or significant events/results to appropriate caregiver
  • Reports patient status and availability regularly
  • Maintains supplies and equipment inventory
  • Stocks and prepares procedure rooms for daily cases
  • Maintains inventory level to meet needs
  • Orders supplies for diagnostic and interventional procedures daily
  • Maintains quality control and quality assurance for division equipment
  • Performs quality monitoring activities for equipment, film, and radiation exposure
  • Participates in quality assurance monitoring within the Division
  • Assumes any applicable responsibility for assigned equipment; reporting any equipment malfunctions
  • Participates as a member of the team to achieve business goals, quality outcomes and customer satisfaction
  • Provides assistance to team members as requested or required
  • Regular and timely attendance is required for this job
