About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized interventional procedures, operating angiographic equipment, and providing care to a diverse patient population. The role involves patient education, maintaining communication with staff and physicians, instructing students, and promoting a positive professional image. Key duties include maintaining intra-arterial access, receiving and documenting orders, and operating within a collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology program is required.
  • Maintains active registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Maintains current and valid Permit to Practice Radiology Technologist license in the state of employment.
  • Completion of the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Mandatory Reporter training for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse within three (3) months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certified within six (6) weeks of hire.
  • Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
  • Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.

Nice To Haves

  • Vascular Interventional (VI) or Cardiovascular/Interventional (CV) certification preferred.
  • Previous interventional radiology experience preferred.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred unless required by local site

Responsibilities

  • Assists licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized interventional procedures on scheduled shifts including emergency callback, operates angiographic equipment.
  • Provides care to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Provides patient/family or caregiver education and counseling in recognition and solution of physical, emotional, and environmental health problems.
  • Maintains open and positive communication with staff, physicians, and other departments.
  • Instructs, supervises, and evaluates student technologists.
  • Presents a positive image to community and professional contacts.
  • Promotes professionalism with the department, hospital, and community; acts as a role model.
  • Maintains intra-arterial access as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Receives, relays and documents verbal, written and electronic orders in the patient’s medical record.
