About The Position

The Interventional Radiographer performs angiographic procedures including invasive vascular treatments and examinations of a technical level consistent with optimal image quality, including a variety of technical and non-technical tasks. This role involves performing a variety of interventional procedures, both professional and non-clinical, ensuring optimal image quality. The position also includes responsibility for accurately entering on-line charges in the Radiology Information System (RIS) and adhering to administrative policies regarding charges. Participation in on-call coverage is required as applicable, and adherence to Radiation Safety guidelines is mandatory.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Radiologic Technology Program or an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program
  • Registered as a Radiographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Valid State of Ohio Radiological License required.
  • Maintain current CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

  • CI or CV registry preferred.
  • Cardiovascular Technologist with Registered Cardiovascular Interventional Specialist (RCIS) certification through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), with 2 years work experience in cardiac catheterization preferred.
  • 2 years work experience in all phases of diagnostic radiography, preferred; with angiography, cardiac catherization, or surgery experience preferred.
  • Attends in-service programs and departmental meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of interventional procedures both professional and non-clinical consistent with optimal image quality.
  • Responsible for entering on-line charges in the computer system (Radiology Information System-RIS) and accountable for charges as specified by the Administrative Policy, ensuring a high level of accuracy.
  • Participates in On-Call coverage as applicable.
  • Follows guidelines for Radiation Safety as outlined in MCHS Radiation Safety Policy Manual.
  • Provides patient care, ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives and exhibits professionalism within established Radiology and Imaging National standards.
