About The Position

The Interventional Radiographer role at Texas Health HEB is a full-time position focused on providing exceptional patient care within a team-based environment. The Interventional Radiology (IR) team consists of RNs and Special Procedure Technologists who collaborate to support patient care, including assisting with patient transport when not actively involved in procedures. The IR team works closely with the Operating Room (OR) on hybrid vascular cases weekly. Texas Health HEB is a 252-bed acute-care hospital serving the DFW mid-cities area since 1973, specializing in various services including heart and vascular care, perioperative services, and interventional radiology. The hospital is ANCC Magnet Designated and holds multiple certifications and awards for patient care and workplace excellence.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree Applied Science required Or Other completion of accredited program in radiologic or cardiovascular technology required Or High School Diploma or Equivalent (2 years work experience in invasive cardiology) required
  • CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
  • 1 year of vascular or cardiac angiography preferred
  • 2 years with high school diploma required
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists upon hire required
  • GMRT - General Medical Radiologic Technologist Upon Hire required Or RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist upon hire required
  • RCES - Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist for EP Lab only upon hire required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required

Nice To Haves

  • IR or Cath Lab experience is preferred
  • LMRT Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist upon hire preferred

Responsibilities

  • Uses multidisciplinary, team-oriented actions
  • Assesses and recognizes the patients emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive and psychosocial conditions
  • Explains procedures to patient or guardian / family member if applicable prior to exam
  • Positions patient to correct anatomical area of interest
  • Adjusts technical factors
  • Operates, cares for and maintains equipment
  • Maintains and enhances technical skills and technology advancement
  • Attends departmental continuing education, meetings, and checks email
  • Supporting the team and assisting in transporting patients to other areas when not scrubbed in.
