The Interventional Rad Tech works in the Bell Interventional Radiology Unit at 4000 Cambridge St, Kansas City, Kansas. This is a 13-week contract assignment in a fast-paced, high-volume environment handling approximately 60–65 cases per day. The unit operates seven rooms and handles cases from the neck down, with some light neuro overflow, such as thyroid biopsies. The team also handles lines for the entire hospital, including outpatient services. The setup is siloed, and the technologist may float to the Cambridge IR unit. The schedule is four 10-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, with a rotating day off. New-employee orientation is scheduled Monday and Tuesday and includes eight non-billable hours. On-call work is required as needed. Weekend work is not otherwise required, and holidays are not required; if a holiday falls on a scheduled workday, holiday pay hours will be deducted in the subsequent pay period. The contract is 13 weeks, with a start date of November 23 or a subsequent Monday. Credentials are due one week before a Monday start. Payroll is biweekly.
