The Interventional Platform Radiology Technologist provides scrub support during diagnostic and interventional procedures, anticipating provider needs. This role requires competence in all roles for Cath/EP or IR, and the technologist serves as a radiation expert resource, demonstrating competence in operating all imaging and related equipment. They are responsible for clear communication and collaboration with providers and the team regarding technical issues to ensure the reliability of quality assurance in imaging, hemodynamics, and oximetry. Patient care is delivered safely and within the scope of practice, with sterile technique followed during prepping, draping, assisting, and circulating. The technologist utilizes safety tools and tactics in all patient care interactions, serves as a patient advocate, and ensures documentation and educational needs are identified with a plan of care agreed upon. Additionally, they act as a resource to the team, providing inservices on technical skill enhancement, radiation safety, image quality, QA, and closure device techniques. They also assist with supply inventory and serve as a technical expert and resource, actively participating in site or system teams and attending staff meetings and ongoing educational offerings.
