About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care to assigned patients. As a professional nurse, the nursing process is utilized in the provision of care. The RN practices within the limits of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and adheres to institutional policies, procedures and standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an ASBN approved nursing program.
  • Associate Degree, Bachelor's in Nursing, Master's in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma.
  • Valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Arkansas.
  • 1 year of direct RN Nursing Care experience.
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

  • Current BLS.
  • Current ACLS for Procedural Area

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients before procedures by reviewing medical history, allergies, medications, laboratory results, and obtaining baseline vital signs.
  • Prepare patients for interventional pain procedures, including verifying informed consent and providing education regarding the procedure and post-procedure expectations.
  • Assist physicians during pain management procedures such as epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, radiofrequency ablations, spinal cord stimulator trials, joint injections, and other image-guided interventions.
  • Maintain sterile technique and prepare procedure rooms, equipment, medications, and supplies.
  • Administer medications, including moderate sedation (when credentialed), local anesthetics, IV medications, and emergency medications according to provider orders and organizational policy.
  • Continuously monitor patients during procedures for changes in vital signs, pain level, and potential complications.
  • Provide post-procedure recovery care by monitoring patient status, managing discomfort, and assessing for adverse reactions or complications.
  • Deliver comprehensive discharge instructions regarding activity restrictions, medication management, wound care, follow-up appointments, and signs requiring medical attention.
  • Coordinate patient scheduling, referrals, insurance authorizations, and continuity of care with providers and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Document assessments, nursing interventions, medications administered, procedural details, patient education, and outcomes accurately within the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Respond appropriately to medical emergencies using Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) protocols when required.
  • Maintain compliance with infection prevention standards, patient safety initiatives, and regulatory requirements.
  • Educate patients and family members regarding chronic pain conditions, treatment plans, and realistic expectations for pain management.
