About The Position

Patients with acute coronary syndromes, complex coronary disease, and structural heart conditions need a physician who can decide fast and intervene with precision. In this role, you will own the full arc of care—from urgent diagnosis through procedure, recovery, and follow-up—so more people leave the lab stable, informed, and on a clear path. Your judgment in the cath lab will set the standard for safety, outcomes, and how this program is trusted in the community.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O., ABIM Cardiovascular Disease certification, and Interventional Cardiology certification or board eligibility.
  • Unrestricted state medical license and active hospital privileges, or eligibility to obtain both before start.
  • Documented independent experience in PCI, including complex and emergent cases, with outcomes you can discuss.
  • Current ACLS and comfort directing a multidisciplinary team during acute coronary emergencies.
  • A record of clear communication with patients, families, and referring clinicians under time pressure.

Nice To Haves

  • Structural or peripheral skills are an advantage when they match program need; coronary excellence is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead STEMI and other emergent activations so door-to-device times consistently meet or beat national benchmarks.
  • Perform a high-quality mix of coronary and appropriate structural interventions with complication rates at or below peer benchmarks.
  • Complete clear, timely procedure reports and handoffs that give referring physicians and inpatient teams an unambiguous plan within the same day.
  • Reduce avoidable readmissions by closing gaps in dual antiplatelet therapy, rehab referral, and early post-procedure follow-up.
  • Build referral confidence through case review, outreach, and shared decision-making that grows appropriate procedural volume.
  • Participate in quality, peer review, and morbidity conferences, turning each case into a measurable improvement in protocol or technique.
  • Mentor fellows, APPs, or cath lab staff so the team can run complex cases safely when you are not in the room.
