Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, is seeking applications for a full-time, employed faculty position as an Interventional Cardiologist and to serve as the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Interventional Cardiology Section in the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology, at the rank of Associate or Full Professor and in the Bruce and Robbi Toll Heart and Vascular Institute (HVI). The highly accomplished and experienced Interventional Cardiologist applicant will have a clinical focus in the areas of complex coronary interventions, structural heart disease and the ability to implant mechanical circulatory support devices. This individual will provide strategic, clinical and operational leadership to advance excellence in patient care, education, innovation and research within a nationally recognized academic medical center. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of interventional cardiology services, and catheterization lab operations, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety and clinical outcomes. In addition, the candidate will maintain a high level of clinical productivity while ensuring excellent patient outcomes while leading the development and expansion of advanced interventional programs. The individual will oversee operations of the cardiac catheterization laboratories in coordination with the nurse manager to ensure proper workflow optimization, resource utilization and staffing while ensuring adherence to performance metrics and quality benchmarks. This individual will collaborate with hospital leadership to align goals with the strategy of the HVI. This position will report directly to the Chief of Cardiology and Deputy Director of the Bruce and Robbie Toll Heart and Vascular Institute, Dr. Juan Carlos Plana. The candidate will also be expected to participate in teaching and mentorship of medical students, residents and fellows in addition to leading clinical research initiatives, trials and other scholarly activities with the goal of collaborating with academic leadership to enhance the institution’s national reputation. The candidate joins a group of over 50 full-time academic cardiologists in an expanding multidisciplinary practice in a supportive environment, with strong clinical, research and teaching programs, including robust structural and interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, advanced heart failure and transplant programs, and specialized programs in cardio-oncology, cardio-obstetrics, and specialized amyloidosis and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy clinics.
