About The Position

SANY’s Citizenship & Science Academy of Rochester is excited to announce the opening of an Intervention Support Teacher position for the 2026-2027 academic year! We have a great environment for new teachers and encourage experienced teachers to apply!

We need Teachers who will:
Provide engaging lesson plans that conform to the charter's curriculum; which is designed to meet the state's core educational standards
Knowledge of Response to Intervention (RTI)
Follows Response to Intervention (RTI) process (i.e. administering researched based interventions, progress monitoring)
Share data collected with stakeholders (classroom teacher, parents)
Tier 2 and 3 Interventions
Possess strong understanding of Common Core standards and state learning standards
Have the ability to modify/redesign/develop curriculum as needed
Collaborate with staff to determine charter's requirement for the instructional goals, objectives, and methods
Be ready to prepare students for the standardized tests relevant to the content area
Have excellent content knowledge and pedagogy
Welcome the use of analytics and data to help drive instruction and promote learning
Appreciate regular feedback, accountability and the rewards that come with doing a great job serving our students & communities
Have great classroom management

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Fingerprint clearance through NYS Department of Education
• Growth-mindset, flexible and ok with change
• Strong speaking skills (needed to attend frequent presentation of data at meetings)
• Organization skills to maintain student files and records
• Intrinsically motivated
• Compassionate
• Strong conviction that all students can succeed
• The ability to take feedback well and immediately implement
• Comfortable with the use of data and analytics to help drive instruction and promote learning

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree preferred
• NYS Certification not required
• Experience with a diverse population of students or in an urban setting a plus
• Prior teaching experience preferred and novice teachers encouraged to apply!
