About The Position

Grant Funded Intervention Specialist Middle School – Full Time 1.0 FTE July 31, 2026 Job Summary: Responsible for providing assistance to at-risk students. The information contained in this job description is for compliance with the American with Disabilities Act (A.D.A.) and is not an exhaustive list of the duties performed for this position. Additional duties are performed by the individuals currently holding this position and additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of BS/BA degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology or a related field
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from the community, regulatory agencies, or members of staff
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form
  • Professional in personal conduct and actions
  • No person shall be hired to work in contact with children prior to being fingerprinted and passing a criminal records review.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in working with school age students.
  • Certified/licensed in Counseling or Social Work
  • Experience using technology as an instructional tool in the classroom
  • Experience in working within a Professional Learning Community
  • Knowledge of internet search engines, Google Suite, and other internet based applications

Responsibilities

  • Effectively work with at-risk students, their families and school staff
  • Develop and implement individual academic and behavioral plans for school and home that generate positive student outcomes
  • Recommend and assist with interventions for at-risk students to increase their academic performance
  • Meet with at-risk students regularly to monitor progress
  • Assist students with organization and study skills
  • Communicate empathetically and effectively with students
  • Ability to plan and organize; excellent work habits
  • Willing to attend conferences and participate in professional development
  • Perform other duties as assigned by administration as allowable by Title 1 guidelines
