About The Position

The Interprofessional Simulation Instructor collaborates with faculty, rural health partners, emergency medical services (EMS) agencies, community organizations, and healthcare systems to extend simulation education beyond campus while maintaining high standards of instructional quality and fidelity. The instructor should have practical experience in performing the skills taught and the ability to communicate the skills to students in a clear and precise manner. This position is required to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare discipline (e.g., nursing, paramedic, allied health, medicine, or related field)
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider certification
• Minimum two (2) years’ working experience in a health care occupation or field
• Excellent communication and instructional skills
• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn new simulation and audiovisual technologies
• Current valid motor vehicle operator's license and ability to meet and maintain insurability requirements as defined by the fleet automobile liability insurance carrier
• Ability to work with a varied population of individuals
• Availability to work evenings and weekends

Nice To Haves

• Proficient in use of classroom equipment (computer, projector, electronic bulletin board, TV, DVD recorder)
• Proficient in use of course specific training materials and equipment (medical manikins, barrier devices, external automated defibrillator)
• Certification or licensure in a health care field
