About The Position

As an Interpretive Guide at Crystal Mountain, you will greet and provide information to guests visiting Crystal. You will commit to providing excellent experiences and memories of a lifetime. While maintaining a presence at the top of Mt. Rainier Gondola and the nearby ridgeline you will provide helpful information to guests on a variety of naturalist and area specific visitor info.

Requirements

  • Basic First Aid & CPR preferred.
  • High energy, positive attitude and excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to guests in main plaza
  • Act as a greeter at the top of Mt. Rainier Gondola
  • Periodically conduct brief interpretive walks across the mountain’s ridgeline, between the top of the gondola and the top of Green Valley chair
  • Promote Leave No Trace (LNT) and USFS practices for minimizing visitor impacts and preserving the natural beauty of our surrounding environment
  • Occasionally may be requested to support other departments in maintenance and operational tasks
  • Respond to customer concerns/questions
  • Contribute to a positive working environment
  • Maintain a safe, healthy, and secure working environment
  • Promote and ensure safe practices using all required PPE and adhering to proper safety protocols in all activities
  • Promote and market activity options to our guests
  • Attend daily pre-shift meetings and necessary trainings
  • Gather guest feedback and recommend improvements to management
  • Promote and maintain the highest level of customer service by anticipating the needs of our guests even before they realize what they need
  • Resolve guest complaints within scope of authority; otherwise refer the matter to management.
  • Notify supervisor of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items or alleged thefts.
  • Develop and maintain an organizational culture, values and reputation with staff and guests.
  • Ensure a positive, harmonious, compliant, and cooperative work environment.
  • Act as a representative of Crystal Mountain with guests & community members.
  • Abide by all Crystal Mountain employment guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned
