About The Position

The Lebanon School District is accepting applicants for interpreting/translating. This position is available on an as-needed basis. Internal staff will be paid $25/hr. outside of normal work hours. In this role, you will be responsible for translating written texts and/or interpreting spoken communication between languages, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and cultural sensitivity in a confidential setting.

Requirements

• Fluency in at least two languages, including native or near-native proficiency in the target language.
• Proven experience as a translator and/or interpreter, with a strong portfolio of work demonstrating linguistic proficiency.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both source and target languages.
• Knowledge of cultural differences and the ability to adapt communication to diverse cultural contexts.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accuracy and quality in translations and interpretations.
• High School diploma/GED
• All required clearances must comply with the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s mandated criteria for hire.

Nice To Haves

• Certification or accreditation as a translator and/or interpreter is preferred but not required.
