About The Position

The COVE Internship Program offers talented post-secondary students the opportunity to launch their careers within a globally recognized innovation ecosystem. As an intern, you will work with a host organization developing cutting-edge technologies across maritime, defence, digital, environmental, and emerging technology sectors. You will contribute to a core business project, gain practical experience, and collaborate with industry professionals, researchers, and fellow students from diverse disciplines. Through these experiences, you will build valuable skills, expand your professional network, and play a role in advancing innovative solutions that drive economic growth, environmental sustainability, and global security. The COVE Internship Program connects students with some of Canada’s and the world’s most innovative organizations. Through COVE’s global ecosystem of more than 700 organizations, interns gain meaningful, hands-on experience while contributing to transformative technologies across the maritime, defence, digital, environmental, and emerging technology sectors. COVE works to match students with roles that align with their education, skills, and long-term career goals. Requirements

  • Open to post-secondary students across all disciplines (i.e. Environmental Sciences, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Marketing and Communications, etc.)
  • Students must be actively enrolled in a post-secondary program at the time of the internship
  • Motivated, collaborative self-starter with a demonstrated willingness to learn
  • Eligibility is limited to Canadian citizens and permanent residents
  • Team-oriented individual with a proactive approach and eagerness to learn new skills
  • Dedicated self-starter with project management skills
  • Technical skills and experience with software programs or equipment (i.e. AutoCAD, Python, C/C++, MATLAB, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a marine, technology, or defence environment is considered an asset
  • Maritime Certifications (i.e. Small Vessel Operator Proficiency (SVOP), Marine Basic First Aid, etc.) considered an asset
