About The Position

Greater St. Louis Area Scouting is a vibrant 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to shaping future leaders through character development and community engagement. We're offering a unique internship program designed to immerse you in the heart of our operations, providing hands-on experience and mentorship from seasoned professionals. As an intern, you'll be more than just an observer. You'll be an integral part of our team, working alongside experienced Scouters to gain firsthand knowledge of the non-profit sector and the impact of our programs, hone your communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, assist with program development, fundraising initiatives, marketing campaigns, and more, and receive personalized mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals. This program is designed to fulfill high school, college, or university internship requirements (12-16 weeks).

Requirements

High School diploma, college students, recent graduates, or currently enrolled high school junior or senior.
A genuine interest in the non-profit sector and/or Scouting America.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational, self-motivation, and teamwork skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
A commitment to the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
Reliable transportation is required.

Nice To Haves

Prior non-profit experience or coursework in fundraising, management, or marketing (a plus!).

Responsibilities

Collaborate with a professional Scouter for approximately 20 hours per week.
Document your learning journey through weekly activity logs.
Participate in mid-term and final evaluations with your mentor.
Attend meetings, training, and activities to explore diverse career paths within Scouting.
Complete assigned projects and tasks.
Become a member of Scouting America and uphold the Scout Oath and Law.
