About The Position

This internship opportunity is for students pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field. The role involves working on challenging technical problems within the Networked Systems and Integrated Fires Group, focusing on algorithm development, modeling, and analysis for air and missile defense. Interns will contribute to a team that addresses sensor data processing, target tracking, multi-sensor data fusion, communications and networking, and system-of-systems design. The work involves using math, engineering, physics, and software skills to model, analyze, and improve air and missile defense systems and concepts, contributing to national security missions.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field with a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
  • Theoretical knowledge and coursework in some of the following: probability theory, statistics, linear algebra, signal processing, time-frequency analysis, communications theory, RF engineering.
  • Good analytical skills and ability to effectively communicate ideas and results.
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by the start date and ultimately obtain a Final Secret level security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using MATLAB, Python, and/or C/C++ for algorithm development, modeling and simulation.
  • Practical experience working with sensors and signals.
  • A Final Secret security clearance.
