  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in international trade, customs compliance, trade remedies, export controls, economic sanctions, or a related regulatory or legal environment
  • Experience with legal or regulatory research tools and ability to apply research skills in a trade and customs context
  • Proficiency with Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Exceptional computer skills and ability to learn new software applications quickly

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with international trade concepts, customs procedures, or regulatory compliance frameworks is a plus
  • A degree in international relations, political science, economics, business, or a related field is preferred
  • Experience with trade compliance software, customs management systems, or legal research platforms (such as Westlaw, Lexis, or Bloomberg Law) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with matter teams to proof and finalize regulatory filings, agency submissions, and trade-related documents
  • Assist with the preparation and organization of import and export compliance documentation, including customs entries, classification analyses, and valuation records
  • Draft routine correspondence and requests directed to government agencies, opposing counsel, and clients
  • Maintain and update client matter files and document databases related to trade remedies, sanctions, export controls, and customs proceedings
  • Perform basic document review and research related to tariff schedules, trade regulations, and agency guidance
  • Support the preparation of filings before the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC), U.S. Court of International Trade (CIT), and other relevant agencies and tribunals
  • Review incoming agency communications, Federal Register notices, and regulatory materials, and provide analysis as requested by matter teams
  • Monitor regulatory developments in areas including customs law, trade remedy proceedings (antidumping and countervailing duties), export controls (EAR/ITAR), and economic sanctions (OFAC)
  • Assist with practice department activities and project work assignments as needed
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
