About The Position

The International Trade Advisor provides support for all aspects of international trade compliance and advisory matters managed by attorneys in the Energy, Environmental, Mining & Transportation practice. Primary responsibilities lie in the areas of regulatory monitoring, trade compliance program implementation, import/export data analysis, trade classification, filings and submissions, and training and process improvement. The International Trade Advisor works under the direct supervision of attorneys in the practice area on a day-to-day basis, ensuring compliance with U.S. import/export laws and regulations, supporting client matters, and meeting billable hour requirements. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3–7+ years of experience in international trade, policy, or regulatory advisory.
  • 10 or more years of experience in import and compliance.
  • In depth understanding of ITAR, EAR import, and sanctions regulations.
  • Strong data analytic skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle complex information accurately.
  • Working knowledge of trade compliance software.

Nice To Haves

  • S. Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) preferred.
  • Experience working in a law firm, consulting firm, government, or corporate trade function.
