About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Managing Director, International Tax Planning, to join our Corporate Tax team. This role is responsible for a broad range of international corporate tax planning matters, including legal entity structuring and funding, advising on M&A transactions, and overseeing our US-based international tax compliance and provision teams. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and self-starter with deep expertise in U.S. and international tax matters, and the ability to effectively partner with senior leadership across the organization. The team you will be joining plays an important role in the overall success of the organization. Requirements

Strong leadership and strategic thinking capabilities
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
Deep analytical and research expertise in U.S. and international tax matters
Proven project management skills across cross-functional teams
Ability to operate independently and as a collaborative partner
Strong interpersonal skills with experience working across geographic regions
JD, CPA, MBA, or Master’s in Tax with strong academic credentials
15+ years of experience at a U.S. law firm, public accounting firm, multinational corporation, or combination thereof
Significant experience advising U.S.-based multinational organizations
Working knowledge of FAS 109 and FIN 48

Financial services industry experience preferred but not required
Demonstrated ability to partner with senior management and stakeholders globally

Responsibilities

Work closely with Corporate Tax senior management to develop sustainable strategies to manage State Street’s effective tax rate
Partner with senior management across Finance and Legal to provide tax advice on U.S.-based and global business initiatives
Advise on mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions
Research and analyze complex U.S. and international tax issues related to planning initiatives
Oversee and mentor our team of U.S-based international tax compliance and provision specialists
Support audit activities and ensure appropriate documentation of tax positions
