About The Position

4M Research, Inc. (4M) is seeking an International Space Station Ground Systems Controller. The successful candidate will work in a control room environment to provide ground system support services for International Space Station (ISS) Ground Systems to include Operations Engineering support for ISS Payloads and other NASA programs. The Ground Systems Controller is responsible for configuring, monitoring, and recovering critical ground system services required to support Marshall Operations Systems, Services, and Integration II (MOSSI II) contract. Critical services include telemetry receipt, routing and archival, voice/video distribution, and configuration management systems. Operations are conducted 365x24x7.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent related experience (4 years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance (US Citizenship is required)
  • Working knowledge of desktop applications including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs
  • Ability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays (40 hours per week)
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Must successfully complete a rigorous training certification program to retain their position

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field
  • Experience that demonstrates the ability to work well under pressure
  • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix and Microsoft command line functions
  • Previous experience working in a help desk call center, computer systems maintenance, plant operations, etc.
  • An interest in NASA and the space program

Responsibilities

  • Configuring, monitoring, and recovering critical ground system services required to support Marshall Operations Systems, Services, and Integration II (MOSSI II) contract.
  • Providing ground system support services for International Space Station (ISS) Ground Systems.
  • Providing Operations Engineering support for ISS Payloads and other NASA programs.
