About The Position

This role is responsible for managing shipment arrangements efficiently and economically, communicating professionally with internal and external business units, and moving materials between various production and warehouse areas. The position involves unloading and loading trucks, verifying materials against documents, and completing inventory management system transactions. Key responsibilities include supporting inventory accuracy through cycle counts, maintaining warehouse organization and cleanliness, and ensuring all tasks are performed safely and in accordance with standard procedures. The role also emphasizes continuous improvement in quality and productivity, assisting with equipment maintenance, and leading recycling efforts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experience
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instruction.
  • Must regard safety as a core value; must serve as role model for other employees and encourage adherence to safety practices, policies and procedures.
  • Must have strong service and quality focus; address issues effectively when problems arise and take initiative to understand root cause, then communicate / education team in a timely manner.

  • Must be able and willing to work overtime, including short-notice requests.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency with computer applications, especially strong MFG Pro transactional skills.

  • Experience leading continuous improvement efforts and knowledgeable about ELS Operating Principles preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule Shipment arrangements in the most efficient and economical manner.
  • Communicate in a professional manner with all business units both internal and external.
  • Move material to/from raw, WIP, Finished, Shipping, Receiving, and manufacturing areas.
  • Unload/load trucks/tankers with incoming/outgoing materials.
  • Verify materials against receiving/shipping documents.
  • Complete appropriate transactions to document the movement of material within the Inventory Management System.
  • Support inventory accuracy: Complete/Support warehouse and departmental cycles counts and correct discrepancies.
  • Pick up and transfer material racks, pallets, and other consumable supplies to/from production areas as required.
  • Condense warehouse space and maintain good housekeeping.
  • Perform all assignments, duties, and tasks in a safe manner following standard procedures and practices. Encourage others to do so. Correct and/or report all unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Perform duties to continuously improve quality and productivity.
  • Maintain a safe, clean work area.
  • Assist in equipment maintenance activities as directed.
  • Communicate and coordinate necessary information to appropriate department/shift employees to ensure effective operations.
  • Lead in the recycling of pallets, cardboard, and scrap materials.
  • Support all 5S housekeeping activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
