About The Position

CVS Health’s International Pharmacy Intern role is for a foreign graduate of a non-US-accredited school of pharmacy who has passed the FPGEE and TOEFL and is eligible to apply for the role. Under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the intern completes required US internship hours through a mixed-modality learning plan and curated learning experience. The internship must be completed within 18 months. The program develops skills in patient care, practice management, leadership, and education, and prepares the intern to complete required pharmacist licensure exams and processes within 120 days after completing the required US internship hours. Failure to complete the internship or obtain licensure as prescribed may result in removal from the role and separation of employment. The intern helps maintain a safe, effective retail pharmacy and deliver patient care, supporting pharmacy operations, customer service, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, inventory, and workflow. Duties include processing prescriptions, assisting customers, resolving claims issues, supporting the supervising pharmacist, and providing services permitted by state regulations and individual certification. The position also involves supporting pharmacy staff development, training, scheduling, and pharmacy department operations. The intern must maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends, and may be required to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a PharmD or equivalent pharmacist degree from a non-US-accredited pharmacy school, and an active pharmacy intern license in the state where the district is located. CVS lists 0–3 years of related experience as required and 3–5 years as preferred. Eligibility to immunize is preferred, and immunization is expected once state regulations are met. The typical pay range is $30.00–$42.00. This full-time position is eligible for benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, retirement savings options, wellness programs, and other resources, based on eligibility.
