About The Position

The International Operations Specialist will be responsible for a broad range of tasks encompassing cradle to grave shipping operations. Scope of work encompasses taking in customer shipment requests, negotiating rates with overseas agents and US-based carriers to meet the needs of the customer, and ensuring that on-time delivery targets are met. An International Operations Specialist has broad-ranging authority over their customers’ shipments and covers a variety of job functions and specialties in the course of his/her work. The position requires a well-rounded individual with a strong grasp of finance, customer relations, and detailed record keeping. This role is 100% in office in our Coppell, TX location.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) clearly and concisely, coordinate and execute work assignment(s) independently or in a team environment, direct others for effective results, and remain calm in stressful situations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with transportation management software preferred, particularly Cargowise.
  • 5 years in a similar role preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with overseas agents to ensure price and time constraints are known and met.
  • Build relationships with US air and sea carriers to ensure price and time constraints are known and met.
  • Coordinate international shipments via ocean, air, and ground transportation.
  • Track and monitor cargo movement to ensure on-time delivery and quickly resolve delays or disruptions.
  • Communicate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
  • Prepare and review shipping documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
  • Ensure compliance with international trade laws, customs regulations, and Incoterms.
  • Maintain accurate records of all international shipments for auditing and reporting purposes.
  • Monitor shipment progress and proactively address delays or issues.
  • Monitor inland transit in conjunction with Logistics Plus inland freight department.
  • Maintain high level of communication with customer to keep them apprised of shipment status.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as required to meet the needs of our client.
