We’re growing our preventative health services and are seeking a skilled foreign-trained physician with expertise in cardiology, internal medicine and/or endocrinology—to join our team. We are seeking a foreign-trained physician with recognized training and clinical experience in cardiology, endocrinology, or internal medicine. The focus of this role is longitudinal support for chronic disease prevention initiatives. This position is designed for an International Medical Graduate (IMG) who is not currently licensed in Canada and is structured as a clinical support role within a physician-led model of care. The role emphasizes: Clinical data review and synthesis Support for cardiovascular and endocrine risk identification Support for management of cardiac and metabolic disease Patient education and lifestyle guidance Collaboration with licensed physicians and a multidisciplinary care team All clinical activities are performed under the direction and supervision of licensed Canadian physicians.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with training from a recognized international institution
  • 5+ years of clinical experience in cardiology, endocrinology, or internal medicine
  • Strong knowledge of specialty-oriented conditions (e.g., diabetes, cardiovascular disease)
  • Experience reviewing clinical data such as laboratory results and diagnostic reports
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in patient education
  • Strong written skills with the ability to prepare structured clinical documentation
  • Comfortable working within a team-based, supervised clinical environment
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and digital health tools

Nice To Haves

  • Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia is not required for this position
  • The IMG does not diagnose, prescribe, or independently manage patients
  • All clinical interpretations and medical decisions are reviewed and finalized by licensed physicians
  • Patient-facing interactions are educational and supportive in nature, not diagnostic
  • This role is best suited for IMGs seeking Canadian clinical experience in a structured, supervised environment
  • The position may support future pathways toward licensure, where applicable

Responsibilities

  • Collect and document patient medical histories related to cardiac, endocrine, and metabolic health
  • Assist in compiling and organizing clinical data (e.g., laboratory results, imaging, and diagnostic reports) for physician review
  • Prepare draft clinical summaries and reports for review and sign-off by licensed physicians
  • Support the identification of cardiac, endocrine, and metabolic risk factors using established, physician-approved protocols
  • Provide general, non-diagnostic patient education related to cardiac risk factors, hormonal health, lifestyle modification, and long-term wellness strategies
  • Assist with coordination of care and follow-up planning as directed by the clinical team
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions to support physician-led care planning
  • Contribute to clinical protocol development, research initiatives, quality assurance, and continuous improvement efforts
