About The Position

Cortek is seeking an International Engagement Coordinator to be responsible for assisting in developing, coordinating, and supporting a wide range of programmatic tasks necessary to coordinate U.S. Government interagency engagements with priority foreign nations to build and enhance their capabilities to respond in the event of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) incidents. Coordinate U.S. Government response resources to prepare for and respond to a catastrophic international CBRN event. This position supports the Office of the U.S. Department of State onsite in Washington, DC.

Requirements

  • A valid U.S. passport is required.
  • S. or B.A. degree and three or more years of experience in WMD or terrorism-related field.
  • Possess and demonstrate superior verbal and written communication skills, with experience in analysis and research.
  • Motivated, self-starter who can work independently or as a part of a team.
  • Active Secret Clearance is required (interim clearance acceptable). Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and experience with CBRN matters desired.
  • Knowledge regarding the design, development, and implementation of facilitated discussions, workshops, and exercises is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple country engagement portfolios, including the responsibility of managing concurrent projects, developing timelines, coordinating activities, and effectively communicating concepts to international partners, international organizations, and U.S. agencies.
  • Assist in the planning, organizing, conducting, and reporting the results of exercises and other events as designated.
  • Draft on-demand memorandums, cables, briefing and background materials, opening remarks, and press releases.
  • Assist in developing, coordinating, and supporting engagement efforts with DoS, interagency, and foreign partners, including briefing senior leadership.
  • The candidate will be expected to travel to remote countries (25% travel).
