International Economic Policy (Assistant/Advanced Assistant Professor)
About The Position
The Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin is seeking to hire a tenure-track Assistant or Advanced Assistant Professor of International Economic Policy. This position, starting in Fall 2027, will contribute to teaching in various graduate and undergraduate programs, including the Ph.D. in Public Policy, Master of National Security, Master of Global Policy Studies, and Bachelor of Arts and Master in Public Affairs. The role involves teaching courses on international economics, trade, finance, development economics, and industrial policy, with a preference for candidates with expertise in foreign direct investment, supply chain resilience, and commercial diplomacy. The appointee will be expected to conduct and publish scholarly research, pursue grant opportunities, and participate in faculty governance.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Economics, Finance, Political Economy, Political Science, or a related field.
- ABD candidates will be considered if the doctoral degree will be completed by the time of employment.
Nice To Haves
- Expertise in topics related to foreign direct investment, supply chain resilience, and commercial diplomacy.
- Prior applied policy research or related work experience.
- Experience in college teaching.
- Evidence of scholarship or scholarly potential.
Responsibilities
