Lakewood Health System is a comprehensive rural healthcare system in central Minnesota. Leading the way in providing quality, personalized healthcare for a lifetime, Lakewood prides itself on remaining fiercely independent to prioritize its patients, staff, and communities in all decisions. Voted as one of Star Tribune’s Top Workplaces for the sixth year in a row, we do rural healthcare differently at LHS by providing a solid foundation of family practice providers with access to best-in-class specialty services, all right here at Lakewood. Across the spectrum of life, Lakewood Health System provides compassionate, quality care for the Brainerd Lakes region and beyond. Lakewood Health System’s Obstetrics department supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization by providing safe, compassionate care to mothers, infants, and families. Our team includes Registered Nurses, Lactation Specialists, Health Unit Coordinators, and Obstetric Technicians who work together to support individualized care plans and promote positive patient outcomes. The Certified Lactation Counselor/Consultant provides expert breastfeeding support, education, and advocacy to mothers, infants, and families while promoting evidence-based, patient-centered care. The IBCLC/RNCLC collaborates with providers, nursing staff, Women’s Health personnel, and OB Case Management to deliver lactation education and support across inpatient and outpatient settings. This part-time role also contributes to staff education and program development to promote, protect, and support breastfeeding throughout Lakewood Health System. This position may be filled by either a Registered Nurse (RN) with IBCLC/CLC certification or a non-RN IBCLC/CLC candidate with relevant maternal-child health, breastfeeding support, and patient education experience. Scope of responsibilities will align with applicable licensure and certification.
