About The Position

The International Area Representative supports a high school exchange program by recruiting host families, guiding them through applications and orientations, and providing ongoing support to host families and students during the exchange. The role involves community engagement, relationship-building with local schools, in-home interviews, and accurate online documentation. It is a flexible, part-time 1099 role with remote work available, designed to fit around existing responsibilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to build trust and rapport with families, schools, and students from diverse backgrounds.
• Comfort conducting in-home visits and interviews.
• Self-motivation and ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Reliable transportation for local travel to schools and host family homes.
• Basic computer literacy for online documentation and applications.
• Proficiency with online application systems and digital documentation tools.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace applications.
• Comfort using smartphones or tablets for check-ins and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Identify and recruit prospective host families in the assigned area.
• Build and maintain relationships with local schools to raise awareness of student exchange opportunities.
• Promote exchange programs through community outreach and engagement activities.
• Guide prospective host families through the online application process.
• Conduct in-home interviews with potential host families and verify references.
• Facilitate host family orientations before student arrival.
• Conduct monthly check-ins with host families and students by phone or in person.
• Accurately document interactions, check-ins, and progress reports in the online system.
