About The Position

The International Admissions Processor provides critical administrative and operational support for the processing of international undergraduate and graduate applications. This position is responsible for evaluating international academic credentials, processing admissions materials, and serving as a liaison among prospective international students, the Global Education Office (GEO), academic departments, and other university partners. The International Admissions Processor will communicate daily with a broad and varied group of constituents, including students, parents, faculty, staff, and external partners, and must demonstrate a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service through email, phone, and in-person interactions. This position also provides administrative support to the Associate Director of International Admissions and contributes to the efficient operation of the Office of Admissions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience working in an administrative or office setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience using enterprise information systems or customer relationship management platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a Higher Education setting.
  • Earned or in-progress Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Management, or related field.
  • Experience with Banner, Slate, and ImageNow.
  • Experience in a high-volume, customer service-oriented environment ideally in admissions processing.

  • Experience working with Enterprise student information systems.
  • Experience with Banner, PeopleSoft, Technolutions Slate, Liaison CAS, Perceptive Content (ImageNow).

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate international undergraduate and graduate academic credentials and prepare credential evaluation reports for integration into Slate CRM.
  • Collaborate with Global Education Office (GEO) recruiters and academic department coordinators to support the international admissions process from application through enrollment.
  • Communicate with academic departments to identify, track, and resolve missing or incomplete application materials.
  • Provide timely updates to GEO recruitment staff regarding applicant status and admissions progress.
  • Conduct preliminary reviews of undergraduate international applications and prepare files for final review by the Associate Director of International Admissions.
  • Ensure international applications are processed accurately and in accordance with university policies and established timelines.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to prospective students, families, faculty, staff, and external partners while representing the Office of Admissions in a professional manner.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for telephone and email inquiries, resolving questions or directing inquiries to the appropriate office.
  • Respond to email inquiries within established departmental service standards.
  • Welcome office visitors, assess their needs, and connect them with the appropriate department or staff member.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Process and index admissions documents, including transcripts, official test scores, and letters of recommendation, within ImageNow and Slate.
  • Maintain accurate student records in Banner, Slate, and ImageNow by updating application information and correcting data discrepancies.
  • Load and process official English proficiency test scores (TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, and Duolingo) into university systems.
  • Update Banner and Slate records for admitted students who successfully complete the VCU English Language Program.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews to ensure data integrity and compliance with institutional policies.
  • Process final graduate international admissions decisions within Slate.
  • Process graduate application deferrals by managing workflow activities and cloning applications for future terms.
  • Process undergraduate application reactivations for future admission terms.
  • Support other admissions lifecycle processes as assigned to ensure timely application processing and enrollment.
