About The Position

The Internal Shop Technician is responsible for maintaining customer service standards through a safe and efficient operation, while adhering to Company policies, procedures and standards. The Internal Shop Technician will be responsible for assisting with the overall operations of the shop and service area.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 education.
  • One-year technical service experience.
  • Basic Computer Skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive customer relations through the proper handling of customer merchandise, questions, comments, requests, and complaints.
  • Effectively works in a team environment in a proficient and friendly manner.
  • Assist the supervisor to ensure the warehouse is operating in accordance with company policies, procedures and programs.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to the supervisor regarding recommendations for continued improvement of the operations. Where necessary, develop and administer action plans for desired results.
  • Assist with all technical repairs of equipment, assembly of new equipment and assist with the installation of stair, porch and ceiling lifts. This will be done in accordance to manufacturers’ specification, guidelines and warranty programs. This may require the manufacturer’s certification for specific equipment.
  • Assist in maintaining the AADL recycle program, maintenance of company vehicles, the maintenance of all rental equipment and the cleanliness of the warehouse.
  • Establish and maintain a strong, efficient, and productive working relationship with approved professionals, business organizations and internal/external company representatives.
  • Assist in the administration of the repair and billing of merchandise, inventory control, purchase orders, price integrity, quotes and all administrative areas not specifically referred to in this document.
  • Be a liaison and public relations representative for the company within the communities you serve.
  • Assist in the ordering of products and supplies, assists in organizing and conducting inventory.
  • Adhere to all government and professional standards and regulations as they apply to the Home Health Care Industry.
  • Ensure daily functions are carried out in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Provide training to new shop technicians. Provide verbal and written reports to the supervisor on the status of training progress as required.
  • Provide leadership in the areas of Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) including participate in OH&S activities, ensuring employees are knowledgeable about and comply with OH&S policies, procedures and legislation, assist in identifying unhealthy, unsafe situations and ensure corrective action is taken. Ensure all staff are adhering to safety rules and regulations.
  • Undertaking and performing additional assignments as directed.
