About The Position

Temporary Internal Registry Registered Nurse (RN) – Day Shift for the Psych Child and Adolescent Department in Chicago, IL. The assignment is expected to last 12 weeks, with potential adjustments based on operational requirements. This role involves treating patients, educating them and their families about mental and medical conditions, providing emotional support, running therapeutic groups, psychiatric crisis intervention, and managing seclusion and restraint. RNs are responsible for recording medical histories, symptoms, assisting with diagnostic tests, operating medical machinery, administering treatments and medications, and aiding in patient follow-up and rehabilitation. They also educate patients and families on managing illnesses, diet, exercise, and self-administration of medication and physical therapy.

Requirements

Current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards
Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units
Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care
